- Gololo escaped the mob with the help of security operatives Mohammed Gololo, the House of Representatives member representing Gamawa federal constituency, Bauchi, was reportedly attacked by an angry mob.
We gathered that Gololo was attacked in his hometown by youths who pelted him stones at an event he organised to distribute empowerment materials to his supporters.
According to a report by Premium Times, the angry mob attacked his vehicle and destroyed the windscreen and when Gololo was whisked to safety by security officials, the mob proceeded to his family home to destroy the house.
However, a family of Gololo denied that the house was turned upside down by angry mob, he insisted that the destruction was done by thieves who attacked the house. Gololo was reportedly whisked to safety by security operatives.
Fortunately for Gololo and his family members, no one was at the house when the alleged mob came to attack it and almost pull it down.
According to an eye witness, who identified himself as Salisu, political opponents instigated the attack against Galolo after several organisation had earlier written petition against him. According to the petition, Galolo abandoned his constituency and did not visit the area for about six months.
A member of Gamawa Youth Mobilization Forum explained what prompted the action against the lawmaker. He said: “All attempts have been made to invite Honourable Mohammed to come to his constituency for a meeting, so that he will understand why people are not happy with him. Unfortunately, he refused, saying the youth should send a delegation to meet him in Kano, Kaduna or Abuja.”
Gololo, the presenter of a popular Hausa radio programme, “Zabi Son Ka” explained the extent of the mob attack.
