Ile-Ife clash: Police releases 15 of 21 Yoruba suspects


- Police has released 15 out of the 21 indigenes of Ile-Ife arrested over their alleged involvement in the March 8 clash between the Yoruba and Hausa communities

- The 15 indigenes were released around 4pm to a member of the defense lawyers, Ropo Oyewole
- However, a traditional ruler, Oba Ademola Ademiluyi and five others who were also paraded are still in police custody

The pan Yoruba socio-political organisation, Afenifere, has disclosed that 15 out of the 21 indigenes of Ile-Ife arrested over their alleged involvement in the March 8 clash between the Yoruba and Hausa communities in the ancient town have been released unconditionally.
According to Afenifere’s National Publicity Secretary, Yinka Odumakin, the 15 indigenes were released around 4pm to a member of the defense lawyers, Ropo Oyewole, Vanguard reports.
However, Odumakin said that the traditional ruler among them, Oba Ademola Ademiluyi and five others who were also paraded are still in police custody.
